Languages of San Marino
Appearance
San Marino is a nation enclaved within Italy. San Marino recognizes two official languages, Italian, and Sammarinese. Approximately 83 percent of the population speak Sammarinese, which is considered a variation of the Emiliano-Romagnolo dialect found in the surrounding Italian region. While Italian is the language of everyday use, phrases and idioms from Sammarinese are used.[1] Many Sammarinese people speak English as a third language.[2]
