Lara Jean Chorostecki (born September 24,1984) is a Canadian actress, known for her role as Fredricka "Freddie" Lounds in the American psychological thriller–horror television series Hannibal.

Early life

Chorostecki was born in Brampton, and attended Mayfield Secondary School.[1] Chorostecki's father worked in a bank and her mother was a French teacher.[2] She is of Polish and Scottish descent.[3][4] She has a brother.[5]

Career

Chorostecki became interested in acting after seeing Les Misérables when she was eight years old.[3][5] She performed at the Stratford Festival for a number of years.[2][6] Chorostecki was the youngest ever person to be accepted into the Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training in Stratford, Ontario.[7] She earned a Masters in Classical Acting in London, England at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.[7]

Chorostecki had recurring roles in Camelot and The Listener. Since 2012, she has recurred in the BBC America series Copper.

In 2013, Chorostecki starred in the Canadian romantic comedy film Please Kill Mr. Know It All.[8] She plays journalist Fredricka "Freddie" Lounds in the NBC drama Hannibal.[9]

In 2014, Chorostecki began filming a series regular role on the CBC World War II drama X Company, where she plays Sergeant Krystina Breeland.

Personal life

Her interests include writing poetry.[5]
