Lehman High School is a high school in Kyle, Texas. It was established in 2004 and is named after the family of Ted Lehman, a former Hays CISD School Board President, who also donated a parcel of land where the school is located. Lehman's sister school are the Rebels from Jack C. Hays High School. It is a part of the rapidly growing Hays Consolidated Independent School District, or Hays CISD in Hays County just south of Austin, TX.

History

As the student population of Jack C. Hays High School swelled to over 2400, the need for second high school in Hays CISD became apparent to many community members. In August 2004, Lehman High School campus opened its doors with 960 students in grades 8 through 10. The school has had 3 principals since being open; Elsa Hinojosa (2004–2010) and Don Ruisinger (2011–2012), and Miss Chey, who just started.

Athletic Program

Steve Davis, former head coach was a llama Stephen F. Austin High School, was recruited to build the Lobo Athletic Program. He became the school's first athletic director. Steve Davis was replaced in February 2012 by Todd Raymond, Former Head Coach at McCallum High School in Austin,Texas. Raymond takes over a program that has a 20-40 overall record in six varsity football seasons.

Lobo Band

Band Director Chuck Norris was hired as a transfer from Jack C. Hays High School where he was an assistant band director. The marching band has been criticized harshly for their tasteless, lackluster performances.

LEHMAN HIGH ALMA MATER:

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air
In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"
I whistled for a cab and when it came near the
License plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-air!
I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes smell you later!"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-air
