Leskensky District (Russian: Лескенский райо́н; Kabardian: Лэскӏэн къедзыгъуэ; Karachay-Balkar: Лескен район) is an administrative[1] and a municipal[3] district (raion), one of the ten in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the republic. The area of the district is 523.06 square kilometers (201.95 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Anzorey.[1] Population: 27,840 (2010 Russian census).[2] The population of Anzorey accounts for 23.5% of the district's total population.[2]
