The Melbourne Mustangs are an ice hockey team based in Melbourne, Victoria , Australia and are members of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). Founded in 2010, as the Mustangs Ice Hockey Club, the team joined the AIHL in 2011 and failed to make the playoffs in their first three seasons, but won the Goodall Cup in 2014.[1] [2] [3] [4] Since their inception, 50 players have played at least one regular season game for the Mustangs. The team's current captain is Sean Jones who has held that position since the 2013 season, taking over from the inaugural captain Shane Hardy. Australian Jamie Bourke , who has played in 2011, 2013 and 2014 leads the team in scoring with 118 points in 67 games.
