This is the episode list of Mr. Bean, a British animated television series based on the 1990 TV series of the same name. Characters include Mr. Bean, Irma Gobb and the driver of the Reliant Supervan, with the addition of Mrs. Wicket, Bean's landlady, and her cat Scrapper. In February 2001, the series was officially announced, with it premièring shortly afterwards.[1] The series premiered on Boomerang in 6 September 2010.

In January 2014, due to the success of the original animated series, ITV announced that another 52 episodes would be made for airing from February 2015 on awards.[2] The new episodes started airing on CITV from 16 February 2015.

On 6th February 2018, a fifth season of the series has been announced to air in 2019, and it will have a total of 26 episodes. The new season will also air on CITV, but also on Turner channels across the globe. [3]

Series 1 (2002)[edit]

Season 1 had a total of 18 episodes, and began broadcasting in January 2002. It had a regular Saturday night prime-time slot on ITV1. However, the final two episodes were delayed for several weeks due to schedule changes.

Mr. Bean decides to become a wildlife photographer, but his attempts to photograph the animals mostly fail (he almost succeed, but forgets to open the lens cap). He wears a fox costume, only a group of fox hunters mistakenly hunt him and then chase him to his apartment.

Teddy gets kidnapped by the burglar duo and transformed into a bunny bear. To save it, Mr. Bean tracks down and thwarts the baddies, and finally removes the socks on the teddy bears' ears and returns them to all the kids.

Mr. Bean wants to watch the movie Titanic in the city. Unfortunately, he has serious difficulties finding a parking space.

Whilst digging for treasure, Mr. Bean builds his own metal detector and goes to hunt for treasure but fails. When he manages to get the treasure and bring it to his flat, burglar duo decide to get it back and restrain Bean. Unfortunately, Mrs. Wicket also gets arrested because her mud mask looks like a thief's mask.

Because he fails to pay the mime, the mime follows Bean when he's not looking and also is the one who breaks the water statue. Mr. Bean out-mimes him then steals the silver man statue and uses it to replace the broken water statue.

It's spring cleaning time and Mr. Bean's room is a mess so he cleans everything. After this, he takes a bath but after he gets out of the tub, he slips on the soap and slams into the vacuum, causing it to explode and his room becomes a mess again. He tries to bathe again except there's no hot water. He tries stealing some from a girl neighbour but the green shampoo causes him to become covered in green. He tries again and tries to escape, but he falls in the mud and becomes dirty again. Bean tries to take a bath in Mrs. Wicket's bath tub, but he puts too much soap wash in the machine causing it to explode and fill the house with water bubbles.

It's Teddy's birthday! Irma Gobb, Mr. Bean's girlfriend, has remembered but Bean has not. Bean decides to invite his girlfriend to Teddy's party. In the toy store to buy a birthday gift for Teddy, he accidentally hits the store owner that is meant for robot, who approaches him. Bean instead buys a balloon. At night, however, Irma becomes unhappy thanks to Bean's unfair play. When it's 9pm, Bean shows Irma the fireworks display and she feels better.

Mrs. Wicket's croquet game is interrupted by an offending mole. Mr. Bean tries to get rid of it but keeps on failing until he manages to capture it. Mrs. Wicket forces Bean to kill it with a croquet hammer but she's fooled afterwards because Mr. Bean, having mercy not to kill it, puts it in a jar and releases it in the wild.

Mr. Bean tries to relax, but with roadworks outside he finds this too difficult. After a few failed attempts, he has an idea to delay the workers so that he can relax but fails to notice steam from a cracked pipe. Then, when Bean lights the candle with a match even though the workers told him not to, the pipe explodes. Mr. Bean ends up in the hospital.

Mr. Bean tries to watch his TV shows with Teddy, but as he tries to find the remote a spring comes out of his sofa. More springs subsequently come out. He decides to buy a new sofa, but cannot afford the cost of £300. He decides to have a yard sale, but all his stuff is removed while he is rescuing Teddy. Eventually he sells a stamp for £300 to a passerby and then buys the sofa. Bean then realises that his TV remote is still inside the old sofa, and goes back to the antique shop where he abandoned it. The shop has patched up the sofa and sold it on (to the driver of the Reliant). As Bean chases the driver to retrieve the remote control, it is revealed that the shop owner has removed the remote from the sofa, and sells it for £20.
11 11 "Treasure!" Katalin Móré Tony Haase Trevor Ricketts 3 February 2002 (2002-02-03)
Mr. Bean goes on a treasure hunt after finding a map in Mrs. Wicket's attic. The second place is in the owl's tree in the garden, and the third place is in the park resembling Australia (when looking above the sky). Finally, Mr. Bean finds the key, opens the box containing the last puzzle piece and solves the puzzle.
12 12 "Homeless" Andrei Ignatenko Robin Driscoll Sharon Smith 3 February 2002 (2002-02-03)
Mr. Bean hunts for a new home, as Mrs. Wicket has thrown him out. He tries out some lodgings he sees advertised in the paper but the series of attempts failed: First, Bean is appalled when the landlady serves him exotic food that turns out to be crocodile. The next apartment forbids Teddy inside. Then a man gives him a bed-space alongside the home of pigs and chickens. Lastly is the burglar duo's fake house. Bean tries to camp out until a downpour interrupts his sleep. Then, when Bean sees his room for rent, he decides to disguise himself to get back in. When Mrs. Wicket sleepwalks to his room, he carries her back into the room. However, as she awakes, she panics and Bean shows himself, pretends that he attacks the man and throws him out of the window. Mrs. Wicket, thinking that Bean has "subdued" him, welcomes him back.
13 13 "Nurse!" Evgueni Pavlenko and Elena Rogova Rebecca Stevens Trevor Ricketts 10 February 2002 (2002-02-10)
Mrs. Wicket is ill and this inspires Mr. Bean to fake an injury, hoping it will get him a luxurious stay in hospital. Unfortunately, it isn't luxurious, and the nurse is different from what he expected. When the nurse undergone Bean with the x-ray, she is shocked when the nurse sees his Teddy (which Bean hides it after he learns that Teddy bears forbidden inside) in the film, thinking that he swallowed the whole of it. Bean then attempt to escape by the wheelchair but the nurse chases him until he falls into the broken lift, ending up serious, genuine injury.

Mr. Bean presumes that Scrapper had been crushed to death in the garbage truck by the collector. When there are no cats that look like him, Mr. Bean goes to a S.O.S. cat house and sees a cat that looks like Scrapper. He lets the cats out as a distraction for the owner, steals her cat then makes him look like Scrapper. Unfortunately, when Mrs. Wicket is shocked to see the fake cat, she throws Mr. Bean out and sees Scrapper alive. Mr. Bean returns the owner's cat but gets caught and does all the wall paper decorating until a cat hits the ladder and Mr. Bean falls down.
Goof: There is a mistake in the episode where Mrs. Wicket gets her skin irritated without apparently touching the fake cat but Mr Bean does not.
15 15 "Super Trolley" Sergey Gordeev and Andrei Ignatenko Lee Cornes Sharon Smith 17 February 2002 (2002-02-17)
Bean wants to buy a box of POP cereal, but is ordered by Mrs. Wicket to buy a dozen grocery items. While Mr. Bean is shopping, the shopping cart he uses breaks, causing the store manager (voiced by Kevin Doyle) to stalk him. He decides to build himself a mechanical trolley to complete his errands, only to accidentally buy dog food instead of cat food for Mrs. Wicket, angering her.
16 16 "Magpie" Miklós Varga Tony Haase David Brown 17 February 2002 (2002-02-17)
Mr. Bean takes into his home an injured magpie, and soon notices that it likes to collect lovely shiny things, taken from neighbours' houses. When Mrs. Wicket and the policeman see this, Mr. Bean is arrested by mistake due to grand theft. Then when the policeman returns from his cab having a parking fine, he thinks Mr. Bean has escaped, but he is hiding behind the open door and shows the policeman the small culprit and he is released. When he returns to his room and finds the Queen's crown stolen by the magpie, Mr. Bean is shocked to see this and faints.

Mrs. Wicket goes to hospital and Mr. Bean must look after Scrapper. However, this isn't easy since they don't like each other. When everything's become a mess, Mr. Bean ends up beaten up by Mrs. Wicket returning from hospital. Mr. Bean is sent to the hospital for bruises, but he ends up getting scratched by Scrapper.
18 18 "The Bottle" Miklós Varga Lee Cornes Chris Butler 26 March 2002 (2002-03-26)
Mr. Bean's newly purchased ship-in-a-bottle gets inadvertently picked up by the milkman. Bean has to get his ship bottle back and succeeds. Then he hangs his bottle near the door but it wakes up Mrs. Wicket and when she slams the door, Bean's bottle breaks. Finally, he becomes happy when he puts the broken ship pieces to his fish.

Series 2 (2003)[edit]

Season 2 also had a total of 16 episodes, and was broadcast in early 2003. It was the last series to be given a prime-time Saturday slot.

Mr. Bean wants Teddy to do water tricks, but his teddy ends up becomes very stinky so he brings it to the laundry shop to be cleaned. Later at night, Mr. Bean sees the goldfish about to be eaten by Scrapper but manages to rescue the fish and takes care of him. The next day, Bean takes him to the beach until he gets dragged when a swordfish eats the goldfish and avoids being eaten by a shark. Then, Bean sees the goldfish alive but Bean becomes stinky and goes to the washing machine.
20 2 "Inventor" Mihály Sikur Tony Haase Ben Lewis 16 February 2003 (2003-02-16)
An inventor moves into the empty room in the attic. When Mr. Bean fails to rescue Scrapper, Mrs. Wicket transfers him upstairs and lets the inventor takes his room. After a few failed attempts to outsmart the inventor, Mr. Bean sees his greatest invention and decides to make it overload while the inventor is downstairs. When Ms. Wicket sees his worst invention, she tells the inventor to get out.

An accident with a faulty toaster causes Mr. Bean's favourite mug, which has the Queen's face on it, to be broken. A chase through London's streets brings him to Buckingham Palace. He tries to get a mug; however, the Queen's dog steals Teddy and so Bean tries to get him back. Then, when he peeps through the eye holes of the Queen's dog portrait, Bean manages to bring the missing dog back to the Queen and is rewarded with a royal mug.

When Mr. Bean steals a slice of Mrs. Wicket's chocolate cake, he runs away but ends up hiding in the attic. Mr. Bean sees the things in his trunk and remembers his young life. After Bean realizes that he's the one responsible for crashing the wedding party of Mrs. Wicket, he tries to return the cake slice but ends up getting caught by her.
23 5 "In the Pink" Katalin Móré Robin Driscoll Chris Drew 1 March 2003 (2003-03-01)

Mr. Bean adopts a strange, furry pink animal. When he tries to find info that either it's a dog, he realizes that the burglar duo's attempt to sell the babies by painting them pink to earn money. When Mr. Bean sees this, he decides to sabotage their plan and succeeds by releasing the emergency brake of their van slamming it into a police cab and getting covered in pink paint.

Note: The scene is similar to the live-action episode "Do It Yourself Mr Bean", only Bean drives his car from the roof.

Irma Gobb is coming for dinner. However, Bean falls asleep in the bath and as a result the turkey is badly burned. Moreover, Irma is kept waiting ages for Bean to answer the door. He tries to cook the spaghetti, but takes a long time to do so, only for it to be lost down the sink when he is shocked by a bird crashing into the window. He decides to make the bird their dinner – but it's too small, so he inflates it to look like a turkey. When this doesn't work, Bean and Irma decide to try to catch and eat the mouse.
25 7 "The Ball" Mihály Sikur Jon Canter Ben Lewis 8 March 2003 (2003-03-08)
A tennis ball gets lodged in a drain pipe on a rooftop. After several attempts to dislodge it fail, a concerned neighbour calls the emergency workers when she misjudges Mr. Bean thinking that he's jumping off the building. He managed to get the ball by bouncing on a trampoline. Later, when the father tells Bean to get the ball, he throws an egg by mistake and end up getting chased by the enraged father.
26 8 "Toothache" Katalin Móré Lee Cornes Chris Drew 8 March 2003 (2003-03-08)
Mr. Bean bites down on a piece of popcorn, causing him much pain. He thinks that pulling out his painful tooth will resolve his problems. However, after he pulls out his tooth in many different ways, it makes a whistling sound every time he breathes through his mouth. He tries to put his tooth back but it sticks by the glue, so instead he use the toy triceratops' horn as a tooth. Then, Bean goes to a dentist to have the tooth removed and repaired. However, when Bean tries to fix the misplaced toy horn, its toy horn accidentally struck his tooth.

Mr. Bean saves a kitten from a tree. The press and the kitten's owner arrive at his door for a photograph but Bean's hair is messy so he decides to have a haircut. The barber is too slow so he decides to cut his hair on his own but he makes it a bold cut which causes Ms. Wicket to laugh and Bean is humiliated. He tries to hide his hair until he sees the photographer's wig then paints it black. As Bean and the owner are about to take a picture, a gust of wind blows the fake hair and Mr. Bean puts the cat on his head. The barber loves it and uses Mr. Bean's cat hair for the customers.
28 10 "Neighbourly Bean" Miklós Varga Stephen Powell Sharon Smith 15 March 2003 (2003-03-15)
Mr. Bean wants to watch a program quietly on telly, but the neighbours won't keep the noise down. The only absolute quiet place is the closet, unfortunately, it ended so he decides to take revenge by recording their noises and uses it to keep the neighbours awake.

The Mini won't work anymore, so Mr. Bean is forced to sell it to the junkyard. But when Bean leaves his Mini around, the worker removes the oil in his engine and steals it. Later, Mr. Bean buys a hot air balloon and paints it the same color as his car. But when he sees his car on the road, he realizes that it's been stolen, so he has to take it back and succeeds.

Mr. Bean celebrates his birthday himself in the restaurant with Teddy, unaware that he is to dine together with a celebrity couple, but the waiter takes a fall and Bean is registered to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the lobster that he served to the guest has escaped so he tries to make a fake lobster using carrots, but it only angers the star actor. Then, when he tries to finish Bean off, the lobster attacks and being pursued by it and the cameras. Later, Mr. Bean and the actress exit the restaurant and the actress kisses him.

Mr. Bean goes to an art museum but doesn't like naked pictures and statues. Then, when he sees a thief trying to steal the flower portrait, he takes a picture but it takes time for it to reveal. But by the time the photo is revealed, he saw the portrait gone and mistakenly thinks that the thief has stolen it and goes on a goose chase. But it turns out that the artist was the one who takes the portrait to clean it and Bean managed to capture the art thief. When his car stops working, he tries to fix it only to be interrupted by the female traffic warden.

Mr. Bean goes to cinema and partly watches two horror films, "Kat" and "The Glob". However, they scare him too much, so eventually he watches "Mr. Tiny", during which he falls asleep. When he arrives home, he tries to get in but realizes that he left his jacket at the cinema and with it his house key. It becomes worse when Bean sees Scrapper as the giant cat and Mrs. Wicket as the glob monster. He drives back to the cinema and tries to sneak into the movie but gets carried by the cashier revealed to be a giant hornet in the Mr. Tiny movie. So Mr. Bean and Tiny work together to survive and succeed. Then the duo climbs on the 'THE END' sign but Bean falls down when he climbs on the N, at which point he wakes from what turned out to be just a bad dream.

Mr. Bean and Irma go on a date. The problem is, they have different notions of what makes a date. After they eat in a restaurant, Bean realizes that he left his wallet at home so he goes to get it, but the musician uses his own £20 to pay the bill and goes to have a romantic dance with Irma. When Mr. Bean sees Irma and the musician going to the car, he sees the blue Reliant coming out, mistakes it for a car that Irma is in and pursues it. Then when Irma and the musician are about to kiss, they are interrupted when the Reliant Supervan slams into the musician's car. Irma decides to go back to Mr. Bean's car, and Irma and Mr. Bean drive away laughing.

A case of mistaken identity lands Bean in prison and the escaped convict pretends to be Mr. Bean! The real Bean ends up in prison and makes a teddy with dough while the impostor is forced by Mrs. Wicket to do Rockery except failed to realized that the "Bean" she saw was a fake. Then, when the impostor is fed up on this job, he runs away and goes back to his prison cell and explains to Bean that he was the one who escaped and pretends to be Bean. When he's out of the prison, he shouts "I'm free!" except it attracts the attention of the prison guards.

Series 3 (2004)[edit]

Season 3 had a total of 18 episodes, and was broadcast in mid-2004. It was the only series to feature on CITV in a regular daytime slot, rather than a prime-time slot. However, once again, two episodes were shown long after the series should have finished.

A friend named Harry goes for a visit to Mr. Bean's room. Unfortunately for Bean, Harry has different things and also is a gluttonous guy who eats too much, so much that all the food in Bean's fridge is gone. Bean tries to get rid of his friend except his teddy is being stolen so he tries to get it back from Harry. Then, he decides to make him go to a restaurant and orders everything in the menu, and escapes from the bathroom when Harry's not looking. Then, when Harry fails to pay the bill, he is forced to wash the dishes as payment and Bean manages to get his teddy back.

Mr. Bean and Irma are watching their TV, but end up fighting each other for their favourite channel because Bean likes to watch the space show while Irma wants to see Andre's music, until the TV breaks. Bean decides to earn money for the big TV by doing a puppet space theater and manages to buy the big TV. However, the big TV breaks again from the same fighting so Bean decides to have a puppet Andre singing while his Teddy swings the flashlight making Irma laugh.
38 4 "Keyboard Capers" Andrei Ignatenko and Mihály Sikur Mark Clompus Chris Butler 12 May 2004 (2004-05-12)
When Bean's record of Beethoven is broken, he decides to buy a new record until he sees a grand piano. He wants to play it but it's been sold to a short man until it becomes out of tune causing the man to cancel the order and Bean buys it. When he plays it, it's out of tune because Teddy is stuck to the piano strings but he can't get the hang of it even when he calls the piano instructor (the short man from earlier). The instructor gets an idea of recording Beethoven's symphony for Bean.
39 5 "Artful Bean" Katalin Móré Robin Driscoll Dean Roberts 14 May 2004 (2004-05-14)
Mr. Bean makes a painting using ketchup, mustard, cabbage juice, blueberries, and cheese mould. The flies seem to like it. He sells it for 5 pounds until he gets an idea of getting their money without returning it to the panicked customers.

It's a hot summer's night and a fly enters Mr. Bean's flat, keeping him awake. Most of the attempts he tries fail (almost successful in some attempts) until he manages to trap it in his fridge. He moves the fridge out but Mrs. Wicket kicks him out of the apartment and he is forced to sleep in the fridge. The next day, the fly returns to Bean's room, sleeping in his bed.

Mr. Bean redecorates his room, making it fit for a queen, and goes too far when he names it "The Palace". Mrs. Wicket, seeing this as an opportunity to gain money (due to lack of funds to pay her bills), becomes the queen and makes Mr. Bean her slave, until he gets fed up with it and exposes Mrs. Wicket for the faker she is.
42 8 "SuperMarrow" Sergey Gordeev Jon Canter Ben Lewis 19 May 2004 (2004-05-19)
Mr. Bean and the father-and-son compete for the incoming biggest marrow competition. Thanks to the super light lamps, Mr. Bean's marrow grows heavier until the father and son decide to put caterpillars in Bean's marrow. Then, when they see Bean with his marrow, they want to swap their marrow with his but fail to realize that the caterpillars are inside. So Bean convinces the judge that the marrow he's holding is his and wins the trophy dropping the marrow on the old lady.

There is a head-to-head competition with another runner, Goddawin, via the hospital and the department store.

Mr. Bean wants to go camping, but his tent has fallen apart. He sets up a rivalry with a security guard. Bean steals the shed as his tent and gets revenge by luring his dog to the shed with his sandwiches and sends the guard's trailer on the lake with a inflatable raft. Later, Mrs. Wicket goes to the shed unaware that Bean has put the dog inside then goes to beat up Bean.

As a girl was trying to buy the last plane in the shop's stock, he throws the girl's doll and manages to buy the plane, except he gets bumped by the guard and finds one part to be missing: the propeller. He goes back to the toy store only to be blocked by the guard but manages to fool him and retrieves the propeller. Bean then flies the plane, with Teddy riding as pilot, and manages to knock down the boy's plane. The boy's father then breaks Bean's remote, while the plane is still in flight, causing the plane to go out of sight. Bean believes he has lost Teddy forever, but then the plane explodes and Teddy is ejected and returns down his chimney.

Bean steals a box of tools from a repairman's truck to unscrew the front of the machine in order to retrieve his card, thereby triggering the cash dispenser's alarm and alerting the police. Bean manages to hide inside the machine before the police officers find him. He then accidentally falls into the vault, finds his card and escapes just as the police officers raid the vault. Bean tries his card again after realising that his note of his PIN was upside down (he was reading it as 1861, but in fact it is 1981). Finally, Bean successfully withdraws the money and buys the cupcake. As Bean drives back home, the police officers mistakenly suspect and arrest the repairman.

Unfortunately, Bean slips and the wind blows the ticket away until it lands at the restaurant. Bean successfully retrieves it, but it is too late. The initial winner of the Raffle of Love is number 77 but when no one responds, the man picks another ticket. The lucky winner is number 76, which the other man has picked, and thus Irma chooses the other man. Bean goes back to the funfair and discovers it is too late.

After several attempts, Bean eventually wins by sneakily adding strong chilli sauce to the maker's pie. However, when Bean returns home, Irma is furious with him for taking so long.
Note: The faulty shopping trolley that Bean uses is similar to the episode "Super Trolley", and this is also the second appearance of the store manager.

Series 5 (2019–20)[edit]

A new revived series will start airing on CITV on 16 February 2015. It will once again feature Rowan Atkinson providing his voice to the animated character of Mr. Bean. It has been announced that 26 episodes, each 11 minutes in length will be aired.


Some episodes of both the original series and revived series were censored in some international broadcasts of the series to be more suitable for younger viewers, notably in children's channels within the Southeast Asian territory, such as Cartoon Network and Disney XD.

2002 series[edit]

  • In some episodes where it contains parts with Mr. Bean's butt visible were cropped out or entirely cut.
  • In the episode "Scaredy Bean", the scene where the monster villain called "The Glob" expels the human skeleton out of its mouth, and the part where Mr. Bean accidentally spits out the spoon on the man's head were cut, due to spitting, and the disturbing content of the former scene.
  • In the episode "Artful Bean" on Cartoon Network Asia, most scenes with the nude female painting were cropped out or entirely edited out, but not after Mr. Bean puts the fake underwear on the painting. However, this episode was mostly uncensored on Disney XD Asia, with only the scene where the nude female painting's butt is zoomed in edited out.

2015 series (on Cartoon Network Asia)[edit]

  • In the episode "Home Movie", the part where Mr. Bean pokes Irma with a fork was edited out due to its painful nature.
  • In the episode "All You Can Eat", the parts where Mr. Bean stands up on the cart and the lady falling in the frozen section were edited out.
  • In the episode "Wrestling Bean", the part where the wrestler bonks Mr. Bean's head hard was cut because it looked painful.
  • In the episode "Bean Painting", the dream scene where the giant Mrs. Wicket vomited together with Mr. Bean's car parts was edited out.
