A total of 156 five-minute Pingu episodes were originally made, from 1986 to 2000, and then again from 2003 to 2006. The episodes were written by Silvio Mazzola and Guido Weber and were directed and animated by Otmar Gutmann using clay animation, at Trickfilmstudio in Russikon, Switzerland.[1] A special twenty five-minute episode "Pingu at the Wedding Party" (also known by its alternate title A Very Special Wedding) was also produced, in 1997, which introduced a family of green penguins.
The leading numbers identify the series and episode number (e.g. 5.10 is episode 10 of series 5). Where applicable, it is denoted whether the title shown is an alternative rather than the main.
