Lone Pine Station (also, Mount Whitney and Whitney)[1] is a former settlement in Inyo County, California.[2] It was initially located on the Carson and Colorado Railroad 3 miles (4.8 km) east-northeast of Lone Pine.[1][2] Later the Southern Pacific Railroad was built on the place.[1]
