Lucien Conein

Lt. Col. Lucien Emile Conein (b. November 29, 1919 in Paris, France; d. June 3, 1998, Bethesda, Maryland, USA)[1] was a noted U.S. Army officer and Office of Strategic Services / Central Intelligence Agency operative. Among other exploits, he was instrumental in the November 1963 coup against Ngo Dinh Diem that resulted in Diem's execution, having served as Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr.'s liaison officer with the coup plotters and delivering $42,000 of the known cash disbursements.[2] He later ran secret operations for the Drug Enforcement Agency.
