Mahbubur Rahman is a Bangladeshi lawyer and politician. He was a leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.[1] He was a member of parliament for Noakhali 3 constituency.[2][3] He served as religious affairs minister from 1984 to 1987[4] and Education Minister under Hussain Muhammad Ershad cabinet from 1986 to 1988.[5] He switched from Bangladesh Nationalist Party to Jatiya Party (Ershad) in 2008.[6]
Personal life
Rahman married Feroza Begum. They had five children together. Begum died in 2015.[7] His daughter Farah Mahbub has followed him into law, and eventually she became justice of Dhaka High Court.
