I have changed the message from "Cannot create account: the requested username is already taken in the unified login system." because there is no reason for this message to be different than MediaWiki:Userexists. The end user does not need to know how the username is taken only that it is. Jon513 (talk) 23:26, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And today I've re-added the detail about why it is taken. I've done this after the account creation team and a user who was trying to create an account had trouble figuring out why their account couldn't be created, since the requested username does not exist locally. - Rjd0060 (talk) 04:51, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Still accurate?

[edit]

Does this page still exist in this form? Seems old and untouched. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:43, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it does. Graham87 06:26, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please delete this custom message, it's broken. Thanks, Nemo 13:22, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
