Fehmi Mert Günok (born 1 March 1989) is a Turkish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for İstanbul Başakşehir.[1]

Early years

Mert Günok was born in Karabük. He started his career with Kocaelispor in 2000. Fenerbahçe transferred him to the club in 2001 and developed him in the youth teams until 2009, when he was promoted to the senior team.

Career

Günok entered the 2010–11 season as the third-choice goalkeeper, behind Volkan Demirel and Volkan Babacan. However, after Babacan conceded seven goals in two pre-season matches, Günok was given a chance against Genk. Günok finished with a clean sheet, and was subsequently promoted to first backup. He made his league debut against Antalyaspor on 15 August 2010, coming on as a substitute for the injured Demirel at the beginning of the second half keeping a clean sheet for the rest of the match. Günok started the next two league matches against Trabzonspor where he conceded three goals and Manisaspor where he conceded two.[1]

Bursaspor

On 20 July 2015, Günok signed for Bursaspor on a free transfer after Fenerbahçe didn't renew his contract.
