Mia Gypsy Mello Da Silva Goth (born 1993)[1] is a British actress and model, known for playing P in the film Nymphomaniac: Vol. II and Sophie Campbell in the series The Tunnel.

Personal life

Goth was born in Southwark, London, and moved to Brazil in her childhood, where she was raised by her Brazilian mother.[2][3] Goth is the granddaughter of Brazilian actress Maria Gladys.[2] At the age of 12, she returned to settle in London, and at 13 was discovered by Storm Model Management.[2][3]

Goth unofficially married Nymphomaniac co-star Shia LaBeouf at a chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada on 10 October 2016.[4][5][6]

Career

In 2013, Goth made her acting debut by playing the role of P in the erotic-drama film Nymphomaniac: Vol. II, along with Willem Dafoe in the segment "The Gun."[2][7] Later she played Sophie Campbell in the Sky Atlantic's crime drama series The Tunnel.[2][8]

In 2014 Goth appeared in the Future Unlimited's music video for "Haunted Love," which was directed by Shia LeBeouf.[9] Later she appeared in the Stephen Fingleton's directed introductory short film Magpie along with Martin McCann.[9]

In 2015 Goth played the lead role of Milja in the science-fiction thriller film The Survivalist along with McCann, and directed by Fingleton. The film was premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival on 18 April 2015.[9] She also appeared in the BBC One's crime series Wallander as Hanna Helmqvist.[9]

Goth played Meg Weathers in the disaster adventure-thriller film Everest, along with Jason Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, and Robin Wright. She played the daughter of Brolin and Wright's characters.[2][7] The film was directed by Baltasar Kormákur, and was released on 18 September 2015.[10]

In 2015, Goth was filming a lead role in the horror film A Cure for Wellness,[7] directed by Gore Verbinski and scheduled for release on 17 February 2017 by 20th Century Fox.[11]
