Muzaffar Hussain Baig is a former deputy chief minister of Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir(J&K). He is a leader of the Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party and till 2006 was deputy chief minister.He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the J&K state in 2002 and 2008. He is also the current Chief Spokesperson for the Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party. He also held the position of Law Minister and Parliamentary Affairs Minister in the state cabinet from the period of 2002-2006.

Muzzafar Baig was the Advocate General of Jammu and Kashmir from 1987-1989. He stated his political career in 1996 with Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference Party where he held the position of Vice-Chairman.In 2002 he fought the election with the Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party and won from Baramulla constituency.

He is a lawyer who has got his master's degree from Harvard Law School. Besides working in top law firms in USA and New Delhi in India, Muzaffar Baig was also the Advocate General of the J&K.He was born in Wahidna, a small hilly village in Baramulla district of the Kashmir valley.

Baig was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014 from Baramulla.
