Nigton is an unincorporated community in Trinity County, Texas.[1] It is 17 miles from Groveton. It was founded by former slaves in 1873.[2] The post office opened in 1894 and closed in 1932.[3] In 1990, the population was 34, many of whom were descendants of the town founders.[2]
