North Moore opened its doors as the first consolidated High School in Moore County, located in Robbins, North Carolina, in 1965.

History

The school was created through the consolidation of Elise High School, Westmoore High School, and High Falls High School.

In 2006 North Moore High School was named one of the best schools in the nation.[1] The cost to build the school was about 1½ million dollars in 1964-65. The Class of 2008 was the biggest graduating class in the school's history.

Description

The school's SAT score average over the past three school years was 1036/1456. There are 38 classroom teachers on staff, 2 Vice Principals, 1 Principal, 1 Media Specialist, 2 counselors and 22 support staff. The current enrollment is around 575. There are close to 16% Hispanic students and 11% African-American students in attendance. There was close to $1.3 million awarded in scholarships to members of the class of '09. The School possesses superior ratings for the band at Marching Band Festivals. Spanish and French are offered as foreign languages, along with many online languages. The school maintains a 95.46% average daily attendance rate among students. North Moore High also proudly sports Smart Boards in every classroom, which are integrated into daily lessons.

North Moore also serves as an evacuation site in the event of emergencies for the upper portion of Moore County.
