Nothaphoebe is a genus of plant in family Lauraceae[1][2] with about 40 species in East Asia, south east Asia, and North America. Distribution from China to peninsula Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Borneo, Philippines.[citation needed] In North America from Texas to south with more species mostly in Central America.[citation needed] The wood is used for house building.[citation needed]
