Omprakash Singh has represented Ghazipur as Member of Parliament Lok Sabha (1998). He is a Samajwadi Party[1] leader.

He has represented as an MLA from Dildarnagar multiple times. He was also a Minister in Mulayam Singh's cabinet in UP.At present he is representing Zamania . He is member of Mr. Akhilesh Yadav with rank of cabinet minister.

Singh is interested personally in taking up Constituency problems in Parliament, and exploring avenues to bring investment within the state and constituency.

Singh participated in the Inter-University Volleyball Competition, 1978–82; took part in Wrestling Championship, 1978–82 and 1980–81; and was Captain for the Kabaddi team, B.H.U. (National level).
