PBC CSKA Sofia (Template:Lang-bg) are a Bulgarian professional basketball club based in the capital Sofia and part of the CSKA Sofia sports club.
CSKA Sofia men's have been 12 times champions of Bulgaria and 17 times Bulgarian cup winners. They play their home games at Rumen Peychev Hall in Sofia. In 2006 they are taking part in the FIBA Europe EuroCup tournament.

History
The CSKA Basketball team takes over the AC 23, a team won 2nd place in the national championship in 1942. In 1946 BC “Chavdar” was created and became 3rd in the championship. In 1948 the team was renamed as “Septemvri” under authority of the Central Military Club and took the second place. In 1949 the club won the golden medals of the National championship. In 1950 the team (again renamed as “Narodna voiska”) was national champion and repeated the success in 1951. Altogether, the team has won 12 first places, 14 second places and 3 third places in the National Championship. The founders of the club are Kosyo Totev, Iliya Angelov, Tonko Rainov. One of the players in the early years of the Club is Konstantin Kotsev, who, after finishing his player’s career became actor of the National Theater in Sofia. When being player, Kotzev performed extracts from theater plays before his teammates and is remembered as one of the most prominent players of the “Red Club”. Within 1948-1974 period 26 players of the Club became Masters of Sports – an honorable title for the most skilled and distinguished sportsmen in Bulgaria. The most famous basketball players of the CSKA are: Dimitar Donev, Kliment Kamenarov, Georgi Maleev, Tsvyatko Barchovski, Temelaki Dimitrov, Atanas Golomeev, Petko Marinov, Milko Arabadjiyski, Rumen Peychev and others. Many famous coaches were working in the Club: Lyubomir Katerinski, Iliya Semov, Kosyo Totev, Tsvyatko Barchovski, Omurtag Kuzmanov, Petko Marinov. The most successful period of the Club is 1990–1992, when the team becomes national champion for three years in a row.
In January 2009, the club went bankrupt, but a few years later restored their activity.
Revival of BC CSKA Sofia (2013-present)
In early November 2012 the Bulgarian businessman and fan of CSKА, Aleksandar Chakmakov with red legend Robert Gergov announce the start of a new era for the basketball team CSKA Sofia, which in 2009 suspended its activities due to lack of finances. Chakmakov and Gergov fully repaired basketball hall, located in the stadium Bulgarian Army Stadium and it "shines", locker room gain European type, facade of the hall is completely changed. The official opening was renamed the hall of "Rumen Peychev." "We start with 8 and 10-year old, and in September we will have 12 to 13 years old and so gradually until it reaches the seniors. Would not press things with the senior team." ended his speech, son of first captain in the history of BC CSKA - Nako Chakmakov.
Made a major overhaul of the basketball hall at "Bulgarian Army" stadium - the traditional home of BC CSKA, which a number of subjective reasons, in recent years was destroyed in a condition that prevents the use and purpose. At present, the hall has been restored and meets the highest requirements for basketball training and competition. Organized a youth school, and now daily in the training and racing teams in three age groups, the young Reds - up to 8, 10 and 12 years old. Since the summer of 2013 were restored and groups at 14 years old and Juniors (under 16). Besides the natural home to CSKA in Central Park, the club has plans to expand their facilities in the capital. BC CSKA has signed a long term contract with "Department of Sport" to use another hall located on the "4th kilometer", Sofia. Former indoor rowing channel CSKA has been reconstructed and builds, it can become a brand new basketball arena and functional to serve the groups for adolescents in the coming years. As planned reconstruction should be completed by the end of 2014.
