Pan Jiazheng (simplified Chinese: 潘家铮; traditional Chinese: 潘傢錚; pinyin: Pān Jiāzhēng) (November 12, 1927 – July 13, 2012[1]) was a well-known Chinese hydraulic engineer and scientist born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang.

Introduction

Pan was Honorary President of the Chinese National Committee on Large Dams at the time of his death. He was an academician and the Vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences.[2] He served as the former Chief Director of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering,[3] and the technical chief for the Three Gorges Dam.

He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering, Zhejiang University in 1950.
