Parablennius salensis is a species of combtooth blenny found in the eastern central Atlantic ocean near the coasts of Cape Verde and is mainly in the island of Sal especially in the shallow waters near Palmeira, Murdeira (or Mulela) and Santa Maria. This species reaches a length of 6 centimetres (2.4 in) TL.[1] Its English name may be the Sal blenny, its Portuguese name is "mané-cabeça" and in Capeverdean Creole as "mané kabesa" in ALUPEK (Badiu) and "mané-cabeça" in São Vicente Creole, it is also used for Microlipophrys caboverdensis.
Etymology
The species are named after where it was first founded, the island of Sal. It was first named and described by Hans Bath in 1990.
