"Patience" is a song by Australian rock band Tame Impala, released as a single on 22 March 2019 through Modular Recordings.[1] It was written and produced by Kevin Parker and is the band's first single since 2015's "The Less I Know the Better".[2]
Composition
The track has been characterised as a "psych-disco bop",[3] a "beat-driven, atmospheric soft-rocker",[4] and "playful, dancey spin on the Perth band's psychedelic pop".[5] According to a press release the song was inspired by 1970s disco and 1990s house. Rolling Stone described the song as Parker singing "airily over a bright, colorful groove".[6]
Promotion
The band announced the release on 22 March 2019, saying on Instagram that a new song would be released in "one hour".[7]
