Paul Parkinson OAM of Brisbane, Australia serves as the Regional Chair of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM),[1] Scouts Australia National Commissioner for Adult Training and Development, as well as the Principal of the Scouts Australia Institute of Training (SAIT).[2]

Parkinson started Scouting as a Cub, gaining his Queen's Scout Award in 1968 and the Baden-Powell Award in 1976. He was Deputy Chief Commissioner, Queensland Branch. Parkinson was awarded the Silver Kangaroo by Scouts Australia in 2004, and the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang from the Scout Association of Malaysia in 2009.

Parkinson has a Master of Environmental Education and is currently completing Doctoral studies associated with self-regulatory learning practices in adults, is a Lecturer in Science Education at Griffith University, Mount Gravatt Campus, in Brisbane, and has had national involvement in the development of science curriculum and science education.
