AllMusic 4/5 stars[2]

Place to Be is a solo album by jazz pianist Hiromi Uehara. The album features eight original compositions plus two covers which are intended to musically describe Hiromi's travels around the world.

Although most of the album is played in a post-bop style, it has classical and ragtime influences. She has been acclaimed for her technique “as the album confirms her audacious self-assurance and technical command”.[3]
