Pokkunuru is a village in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Chandarlapadu mandal of Vijayawada revenue division.[1][2] It is forms a part of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region.[3]

"Andhra Pithamaha" Madapati Hanumantha Rao (1885–1970) social reformer of Hyderabad was born in this village.[4]

Politics

On 2013 panchayat elections were conducted and komati prabhkarao is the present sarpanch from Telugu Desam Party. His elder brother Komati Koteswarrao is of the most respectable and notable person from the village komati muraharirao also notable person.
