- You don't see sign gantries laying around in bar ditches very often, so I used the opportunity to get up close and personal with this one. Image is cropped slightly, I still have the original as well as another version pointed slightly more to the right, as well as closeups on both signs. Can probably reshoot if needed; but obviously ODOT's not going to let this hang around in the ditch forever. —Scott5114↗ [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 22:19, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Interstate 70 in Utah approaching the San Rafael Reef with the back of a semi-trailer visible for a scale perspective on the size of the rock formation.
Also, this was previously nominated by NE2: An early plan for freeways in San Francisco, showing the Embarcadero Freeway, Central Freeway and others that were canceled due to freeway revolts. This bears almost no resemblance to the freeway system in San Francisco today, with only two freeways built even roughly corresponding to this plan. The Bayshore Freeway was built almost to this plan and currently carries U.S. Route 101 through the city. Interstate 280 loosely resembles portions of the depicted Alemany and Mission Freeways.
