1928 - Tobin Rote, quarterback, had a 17-year professional football career, playing for 5 different teams in the NFL, AFL and CFL. (d. 2000)
1949 - Tony McGee, defensive end, played 14 NFL seasons with three different teams.
1953 - Herbert Scott, offensive lineman, played ten seasons for the Dallas Cowboys, appeared in three Pro Bowls and three Super Bowls.
1972 - Dwayne Carswell, tight end/offensive lineman played 12 seasons with the Denver Broncos, when he appeared in one Pro Bowl and two Super Bowls.
1975 - Derek Smith, linebacker, played 12 NFL seasons for four different teams.
1980 - Julius Peppers, defensive end, two-sport star at UNC, has played in five Pro Bowls and Super Bowl XXXVIII all with the Carolina Panthers.
