Rajesh Gangwar (born 12 January 1967) is a socialist, who believes in Nonviolence. Born and raised in a small village of Bareilly, he studied Engineering, but soon he found himself interested in Social works and left job as engineer. He has been on Hunger strikes many times to protest Injustice. His father is Vijay Singh Gangwar.

Early Life

Rajesh Gangwar was born in Chakdaha, a small village in Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) on 12 January 2015. His family business background was Agriculture. He completed his primary education at Patel Inter College, Dhaunra Bareilly, High-School and his during his post-secondary education at Government Inter College, Bareilly, he studied Engineering in Government Polytechnic Nainital before graduating from Bareilly College, Bareilly with an interest in Sociology. He started his career as an Engineer in Oswal Sugar Mill, Nawabganj, Bareilly, but he soon found he lacked sufficient interest in the field, so he quit to focus on social work.

Hunger Strike for justice in favor of women

Rajesh Gangwar has been on several Hunger strikes to protest the continuously increasing harassment of women.

Hunger strike in Delhi Against Damini Rape case

Mr. Gangwar went to Delhi to protest against the Government of India on 24 December 2012 as the Government was not taking considerable action on the recent Delhi rape case, Vasant Vihar (16 December 2012). He started Hunger strike on 24 December 2012 at Jantar Mantar, Delhi and continued his fast for 16 days. The Government of India considered this case after the protest but it was not enough though his Way of Nonviolence surely climbed a few stairs.

Hunger strike in Bareilly against continuously increasing women harassment

After some criminals brutally murdered his daughter on 5 November, 2014 he sat on hunger strike once again against this continuously increasing women harassment in India. He was on Hunger Strike for 11 days this time.

Padayatra from Bareilly to Delhi against Corruption and Unemployment

Mr. Gangwar started his padayatra on 26 May 2013 from Bareilly. He traveled more than 250 km in 11 days to encourage the people against Corruption and Unemployment in India. He reached Delhi on 5 June 2013 via Rampur, Moradabad, Ghaziabad etc. After reaching Delhi first he went to Raj Ghat to pray to Mahatma Gandhi then walked around the Parliament and came to Jantar Mantar, Delhi, here he ended his padayatra.
