Ramya Subramanian, also known as VJ Ramya, is an Indian film actress and television host, who has worked in the Tamil film industry.

Career

Ramya competed in the "Miss" Chennai competition in 2004, finishing amongst the finalists. Ramya subsequently went on to host television shows including Kalakkapovadhu Yaar?, Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhudeva?, Namma Veetu Kalyanam and Kedi Boys Killadi Girls on STAR Vijay.[2] She revealed post-marriage, that she would cut down on television commitments and become more choosy with her work.[3]

In 2015, Ramya made a comeback to films by appearing as Dulquer Salmaan's friend, Ananya, in Mani Ratnam's O Kadhal Kanmani (2015).[4][5] Her performance was well received by critics.[6] In the same year, she became an RJ at BIG FM 92.7.[7][8]

Personal life

Ramya married Chennai-based auditor Aparajith Jayaraman at MRC Kalyanamandapam in Chennai in February 2014, in an arranged marriage conducted by her parents.[9][2][10] On 12 September 2015, she announced via Twitter that she is no longer in a marital relationship.But everybody says that she is still in touch with him. Source said that she visits him often[11]
