Real World:
Ex-Plosion

Real World: Skeletons is the thirtieth season of MTV's reality television series Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras document their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is the second season of Real World to be filmed in the East North Central States region of the United States, specifically in Chicago, Illinois after The Real World: Chicago.

The season featured a total of seven people with an additional 11 roommates who were the "Skeletons" making the cast total 18 cast members, the most cast members ever on a season, who lived in a loft in Chicago and follows a twist from the previous season. It is the eighth season to take place in a city that had hosted a previous season, as the show's eleventh season was set in Chicago in 2002. Chicago was first reported as the location for the 30th season in a June 2014 article by Crain's Chicago Business.[2] Production began on August 8, 2014, and concluded on October 20, 2014 totaling up to 74 days of filming.[2][3] The season premiered on December 16 of that year, consisting of 13 episodes.[4]

This season marks the first time that the show has aired on a night other than a Wednesday since the seventeenth season. No reunion special was produced, marking the first time since the tenth season in 2001.[5]

Season changes

Each week, one cast member is faced with people from their past ("skeletons") who they have unresolved issues with at the moment relating to family, romance, work, and socialization. Unlike the previous season, the surprise guests only have the option to live in the house for only one week.

Employment

Beginning in the 28th season, certain jobs in the area were approved by production that the cast had the liberty to apply for independently if desired. This season, the entire cast worked in groups of two or three as bartenders, bar backs, and waiters at three Chicago bars and nightclubs: Vincenzo’s Sports Tavern, Old Fifth, and Red Kiva.[6] Red Kiva is located next door to the cast residence.

The residence

The cast lived at 1100 W. Randolph Street in the West Loop neighborhood, the location of Bon V, a former nightclub.[2][7]

Cast

This was the first season of Real World to feature a cast of 18 cast members consisting of seven original roommates and eleven additional roommates. The season started off with seven roommates, and then the cast was joined by eleven additional roommates, who each were chosen to live for a week. The additional roommates are Skeletons, people who have unresolved issues with the originals at the moment relating to family, romance, work, and socialization.

The Skeletons
Alicia Alicia comes into the house in Episode 4 as Sylvia's Skeleton. She is known as "The Boss From Hell". Alicia and Sylvia were close friends. They work together and Alicia earned her spot as the boss which irritated Sylvia. She has been really rude to Sylvia in the past. She makes quick enemies with Violetta while staying in the house.
Alyssa Alyssa comes into the house in Episode 6 as one of Tony's Skeletons. She is known as "Tony's Ex/Stalker". She is extremely liked by the other roommates, but hates Elizabeth (Tony's other Skeleton). She proceeds to call Elizabeth a puppy dog because she's always following Tony. Tony and Alyssa are surprisingly close throughout her time in the house.
Ashley & Samantha Ashley and Samantha come into the house in Episode 9 as one of Nicole's Skeleton. They are known as "Nicole's Triplets". They both are planning to get married and move to Hawaii. They both also hate how Nicole lives her life style and they just want her to settle down with someone.
Briah Briah comes into the house in Episode 9 as Bruno's Skeleton. He is known as "Bruno's Brother". Him and Bruno haven't talked to each other in over 3 years. Elizabeth Elizabeth comes into the house in Episode 6 as one of Tony's Skeletons. She is known as "Tony's Girl From Back Home". She is extremely demanding to Tony and always snaps her fingers at him and always wants things to be her way. She became hated by everyone in the house, including Tony's other skeleton Alyssa. After Elizabeth was rude to Madison at a club, this leaded to Bruno and Jason wanting to get her out, and leaded to Sylvia to throw all of Elizabeth's belongings off the balcony.
Jessica Jessica comes into the house in Episode 8 as one of Violetta's Skeletons. She is known as "Violetta's worst enemy". Jessica and Violetta have never gotten along. She said that Violetta's nickname used to be Vio-slutta, and also called her a whore and that she's going to go nowhere in life.
Lafayette Lafayette comes into the house in the season finale as Jason's Skeleton. He is known as "Jason's Dad". He and Jason's mother had a one night affair and ended up getting pregnant. He left Jason when he was younger and Jason never heard from him again until Lafayette came into the house.
Rachel Rachel comes into the house in Episode 11 as Madison's first Skeleton. She is known as "Madison's Sister". She looked up to Madison as her role model. After Madison started using drugs and her priority switched to drugs instead of Rachel and started taking money from her, Rachel sort of cut her out of her life. She says that she wants to build the trust back and wants to get to know the new Madison while she is in the house.
Skyler Skyler comes into the house in Episode 12 as Madison's second Skeleton. He is known as "Madison's Ex". He and Madison dated and when Madison started using drugs, her priority was more on drugs and not on Skyler, so they broke up. He says that maybe it might turn into something again in the future. He is also in the military.
Tia Tia comes into the house in Episode 8 as one of Violetta's Skeletons. She is known as "Violetta's ex-friend/enemy". Tia is more tolerable to Violetta than Violetta's other skeleton. Violetta heard that Tia called her friend sluts and immediately stopped liking Tia.
