Richard Briggs (born 1952) is a Republican member of the Tennessee Senate representing the 7th district, which encompasses part of Knox County.[1]

Biography

Early life

Richard Briggs was born on December 7, 1952.[1] He attended University of Kentucky, where he received his M.D.[1] He served in the Army and retired with the rank of Colonel.[1]

Career

He was elected to the 109th General Assembly. He is 2nd Vice Chair of the Senate State and Local Government Committee. He serves as a member of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee.[1]

Personal life

He is married to Stephanie Briggs.[1] He is a Methodist.[1]
