The Saraperos de Saltillo (English: Saltillo Serape Wearers) is a Triple-A Minor League Baseball team which plays in the Mexican League. They have won three championships (1980, 2009, and 2010). Their home ballpark is the Estadio de Béisbol Francisco I. Madero in Saltillo, Coahuila. The 1979 Saraperos were recognized as one of the 100 greatest minor league teams of all time.[1]
History
The Saraperos arrived in the Mexican League in 1970. They originated at a dinner held by the members of the Committee for Construction of the Cathedral of Saltillo, whose president was Don Jorge Torres Casso.
