The discography of Scissor Sisters, an American pop music group, consists of four studio albums, two extended plays, 15 singles, two video albums and 16 music videos. The group was founded in 2001 by Babydaddy, Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Del Marquis and Paddy Boom.[1] After signing a contract with independent record label A Touch of Class in 2002, Scissor Sisters released their debut single "Electrobix".[2] The critical success of its B-side, a cover version of Pink Floyd's rock song "Comfortably Numb", brought the group to the attention of Polydor Records, which signed them in 2003.[2]
Scissor Sisters then began to work on their self-titled debut studio album, which was released in February 2004. The album reached number one on the Irish and United Kingdom album charts[3][4] – it was certified five times platinum by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and seven times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).[5][6] Five singles, "Laura", "Comfortably Numb", "Take Your Mama", "Mary" and "Filthy/Gorgeous", were released from the album: "Filthy/Gorgeous" was the album's highest charting single, peaking at number five on the UK Singles Chart.[4] The band released their second studio album, Ta-Dah, in September 2006. The album peaked at number one in Australia, Ireland, the UK and on the United States Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart.[3][4][7][8] It was certified double platinum by the IRMA, four times platinum by the BPI and platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).[5][9][10] Four singles were released from the album: "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'", "Land of a Thousand Words", "She's My Man" and "Kiss You Off", with "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" charting at number one on several national single charts, including Australia, Germany, Sweden and the UK.[4][8][11][12]
Scissor Sisters worked extensively with producer Stuart Price in recording their third studio album, Night Work, which was released in June 2010. The album reached number two in the UK and number three on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart.[4][7] It was certified gold by the BPI.[5] Three singles were released: "Fire with Fire", "Any Which Way" and "Invisible Light", with "Fire with Fire" peaking at number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart.[7] Magic Hour, the band's fourth studio album, was followed in May 2012. It peaked at number one on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart and number four in the UK. The album produced four singles: "Shady Love", "Only the Horses", "Baby Come Home" and "Let's Have a Kiki", with "Only the Horses" charting in Ireland, the UK and the US.[3][4][7]
