Shannon Kook (born February 9, 1987) is a South African actor.
Early life
Kook-Chun was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa to a Mauritian father of Chinese descent and a South African mother.[1] He then moved to Montreal in order to attend the National Theatre School of Canada.[2]
Career
Kook's first on screen role was in the Canadian television series Being Erica in 2009. He is best known internationally for his roles as Zane Park on Degrassi: The Next Generation (2010–2011) and as Duncan on Shadowhunters (2017).
In 2014, Kook was chosen as one of the Toronto International Film Festival's Rising Stars, a distinction that the festival gives annually to spotlight four up and coming Canadian actors.[3] Between 2015 and 2016, Kook starred in the popular web series Carmilla.[4] In 2017, he was featured in the web series Running With Violet.
On January 19, 2018, it was announced that Kook will be playing Lucas, a mysterious new character on The CW's The 100.[5] This turned out to be a red herring, and Kook was in actual fact playing Jordan Jasper Green, the son of Monty Green and Harper McIntyre, named after Jasper Jordan.
