Shivdeep Waman Lande is an IPS Officer of 2006 Batch who currently transferred to Maharashtra on Central deputation.[4][5] Earlier, he served as the Superintendent of Police in Araria, Purnia and Munger districts of Bihar. He also served as the SP of Patna (Central Region), where he was quite popular. He arrested many criminals, ranging from fake cosmetic sellers to medicine mafia. Lande became a hero among young girls of the cities, as he took strict action against eve-teasers[6]

As per reports, he donates 60% of his salary to a social organization which arranges marriage for poor girls and hostels for poor students.[7]

Personal life

Shivdeep Waman Lande is an electrical engineer by qualification and hails from Akola in Maharashtra.[8]

Transfer from Patna

When he was transferred to Araria from Patna, many people in the city took out candle-light march and protested against this government decision. He reportedly received more than 2000 text-messages on his phone on the day of his transfer.[5] In Araria too, Lande continued to remain in news due to his frequent operations against criminals.[9][10]
