Sonampreet Kaur Bajwa (Template:Lang-pa; born August 16, 1990) commonly known as Sonam Bajwa[2] is an Punjabi model and actress active in Punjabi films, Tamil cinema, and Telugu films. She participated in the Femina Miss India contest in 2012. She played the leading female role in the 2014 blockbuster Punjabi film Punjab 1984.[3]

Early life and modelling career

Sonam Bajwa was born in a small town called Nanakmatta, India.[4] She completed her schooling from Jaycees Public School, Rudrapur. She studied at Delhi University and became an air hostess. In 2012 she contested the Femina Miss India contest.[5]

She acted in two Punjabi films, including Punjab 1984. She was subsequently shortlisted to act opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Happy New Year, but was not chosen for the role.[6]
