St Thomas à Becket Catholic Secondary School is a secondary school with academy status in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England.

The incumbent headteacher is John J. Rooney, who succeeded Brian S.L. Donnellan at Christmas 2009. The school consistently achieves high GCSE results and is amongst the best in the Wakefield Local Authority area http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2009/jan/15/wakefield-gcse-alevel-league-tables [citation needed]. A very high percentage of its students go on to further education [citation needed].

Motto

The school's motto is "Esse Quam Videri", meaning "To be, rather than seem to be". This is also the title of the school hymn.
