International career

He is also an Estonia national football team player and has appeared in 71 matches for the senior side.

He scored an own goal playing against England in October 2007. In an attempt to clear the ball from outside his own box, he cleanly headed Ashley Cole's cross onto his own post, and past keeper and teammate Mart Poom. After that mistake, he has proven to be reliable and confident in his position.
