Fuzion[edit]

Although TFOS has been marketed as a Fuzion title from time to time, the system actually bears little if any resemblance to Fuzion. It is, for the most part, unique to TFOS. Michael Hopcroft 01:28, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Publication Date[edit]

I think the publication date given for the first edition (November, 1988) may be wrong. My copy of "Fieldtrip" (the first supplement) has a copyright date of 1987. (My copy of the second edition rules has three dates on it: 1987, 1988, 1989.) I've also found one webpage [1] that gives a 1987 date for the 1st edition. Did some more checking, and found a page on R. Talsorian's site [2] that says TFOS won a "1987 Gamers Choice" award. I think Gamer's Choice awards were part of GenCon in the 1980s (Origins handles them now), which should mean TFOS won the award in summer of 1988. I can't find a list of winners online, so I'm going to dig through my magazine collection from then to see if somebody published the list. Michael Bauser 17:55, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Got something: Polyhedron #38 says that TFOS won "Best Other Category Role-Playing Game" in the "1986/1987" Gamer's Choice awards, awarded at GenCon 20 (August 1987). I also dug up a copy of Gateways #12, which contains a preview article about the second edition, stating it was scheduled for release in "Spring of 1989".

Based on this information, I'm going to change the publication date for the first edition to 1987, and add a 1989 date for the Second edition. This entry is going to need an overhaul eventually -- most of the stuff in Trivia section belongs in a History section. Michael Bauser 20:24, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My copy of Heroic Worlds confirms first edition (80 pages) published in 1987, second edition (96 pages) in 1989. It also notes that the first edition came with "two tiny dice in a bound-in plastic bag." Rossumcapek 08:01, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have a first edition of TFOS and I can confirm that was published in 1987, they are really two tiny dice (I think 4mm widht). Page count is 84 (the first four pages are not numered and page 1 is the fifth page).--Moroboshi 21:01, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
