FYI: Deletionists
[edit]1440p is an already-standardized, upcoming technology. There are some articles at Engadget HD that either mention or are about 1440p devices ([1]). It's expected sometime in 2008. ~Floppie(talk • contribs) 18:41, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- 1440p is not a standard for any broadcast/video format and the Chi Mei Optoeletronics display that was going to have 1440p for its native resolution, which was announced in 2006, never came out. As for the HDMI switcher that could do 1440p I believe that was a misprint since they were most likely referring to WUXGA (2560x1600) which is the upper limit for HDMI 1.3 switchers. As such of the two articles you provided one was about a product that never came out and the other is most likely a misprint. Also as of May 2008 there have been no announcements about consumer 1440p displays so why did you expect them to be released this year? --GrandDrake (talk) 00:52, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
