[edit]

You don't mention his contributions - 1 point less than season's best scorer, first to leave early for the pros long before Iverson, served in military during WW2 starting right after December 7, 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor. Married and raised a family of 3 children, oldest born right after the war. Played minor league baseball as a pitcher but further pursuit of pro career in either sport took a backseat to family due to lack of financial security. Son in a family of 10, born to Irish immigrants. Leaving school early related to poverty and his desire to help the family. He raised his family in the Bronx and Brooklyn before moving to Carteret NJ where he died in 1978. I'm his son, 3rd born after 2 daughters. 2600:8802:2202:5C00:C549:C5C9:6B35:3939 (talk) 08:37, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
