Surely mention should be made of her "annus horribilis"? -- Dandelions 18:46, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's Latin for really bad hemorrhoids? EEng 14:24, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It is only the approbation of my fellow editors that keeps me going. EEng 14:49, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Death of Elizabeth II

[edit]

The first line says "one of the official residences of Queen Elizabeth II.". Not sure what an appropriate change would be, but it should be updated. Benmsch (talk) 19:25, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

At the time of the fire in 1992, it was one of her official residences so I think the opening of article is probably fine. It could be broadened to say something along the lines of 'historically one of the residences of the British monarch' but keeping it anchored in the context of 1992 seems reasonable. Title

I can be wrong, but from what I gather this is the only fire in the castle's history. Couldn't the article be renamed to Windsor Castle fire, knowing there's no ambiguity with other pages? NoonIcarus (talk) 22:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fire broke out in the Prince of Wales's tower on 19 March 1853. It burned for six hours. Firebrace (talk) 00:01, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind in that case. I'd still leave the option in case this is the better well known fire, but I want to leave that up for editors that are more familiar with the topic. --NoonIcarus (talk) 06:47, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
