USRA info moved to new article[edit]

Since we've already got a series of articles on USRA standard designs, I've moved the USRA 2-6-6-2 information to that article. Slambo (Speak) 14:12, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have inserted a subsection covering the USRA 2-6-6-2 as a phase in the evolution of this wheel arrangement in North America, and added material from additional sources. I have not modified the USRA article although I feel some of the new material could also be presented there.

Significant expansion and reorganization[edit]

In a succession of revisions, I have reorganized the material on usage of these engines by nation, generally in the order of adoption: USA, Mexico, Serbia, South Africa, Soviet Union. Within the USA section I have introduced third level headings for phases of development. I have expanded the list of references and the number of citations, particularly for newly introduced material.

I would hope the revised article could be reviewed and assessed higher than "Start class". AlexSchneiderJr (talk) 08:32, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

One change I neglected to mention: I changed the information concerning first use of this wheel arrangement from a 1910 engine built for South Africa, to a 1906 engine built for the Great Northern Railway. AlexSchneiderJr (talk) 08:37, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
