Actually, many bonus-point systems (eg the one used at the last world cup) have the rule that, in the event of a tie on points, it is the winner of the match between the two teams (rather than who has the better points difference) that takes the higher position . Since France beat England 20-15 in this tournament, they would've won the championship regardless. This section is unnecessary; it strikes me as being written by an English fan "clutching at straws" and should be removed. 78.145.85.173 (talk) 13:53, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
