Inter-Wiki project idea

[edit]

I came up with an idea of having an inter-wiki project for Champions League, UEFA Cup and UEFA Intertoto Cup. The idea is we can have match reports from Wikinews and use them on Wikipedia article for 2008-09 Champions League, 2008-09 UEFA Cup and 2008 UEFA Intertoto Cup. There should be no sourcing issues since there is a requirement of 2 sources per match report.

  1. This is an inter-promotion thing for Wikimedia Foundation.
  2. All match reports would be of the same standard.
  3. The standard NPOV will be in the match reports as required by Wikinews and Wikipedia.

There will be 213 matches for Champions League, 359 UEFA Cup matches, 78 Intertoto Cup matches for a total of 650 matches. Therefore, there will be a number of people needed to do this. If you're interested or have any questions or comments, you can ask them here or if you would like to sign-up, you can go here. Don't write how this is too big or a bad idea. This is to survey to see how viable this is. However, if you have some constructive comment or question, then feel free to add. Kingjeff (talk) 21:36, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:UEFA Regions.png

[edit]

The map Image:UEFA Regions.png and the matches listed in the article contradict to each other. In the section == First Round == there is the match between the teams from Luxembourg and Georgia. But on the map Luxembourg is in the Northern Region and not in the Central Region with Georgia. Could please somebody check if the map is correct and modify it if it isn't? Thank you. I hope my text is unsterstandable because my English isn't as well as it should be. --Mocky04 (talk) 23:22, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User Solentboy 1986

[edit]

This user is at fault. He edited the article, which was correct and added incorrect info. For example he wrote, that in Intertoto Cup will play Groclin, but I'm Pole and I know that in this cup will play LECH POZNAŃ. So I added this and he make that again. Sorry for my english, but it isn't very good. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pyciek (talkcontribs) 19:09, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish team playing Intertoto 2008

[edit]

Spanish team playing Intertoto will be Deportivo de La Coruña or Athletic de Bilbao, since both Mallorca and Racing (neither Almería, who actually can finish 8th) did not apply for Intertoto —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.81.202.117 (talk) 08:14, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you provide a source? BanRay 19:17, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Strange on this page http://www.uefa.com/footballeurope/news/kind=16/newsid=695199.html you can read that RCD Mallorca will enter Intertoto Cup —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.87.2.90 (talk) 08:26, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lech Poznan/Cracovia

[edit]

Lech Poznan finished in the Intertoto slot in Poland (think that was 4th place) yet somebody has changed it so that it is Cracovia as Poland's entry... is that right? Cracovia came like 7th and I havent heard anything about them taking Poland's entry place instead? --79.184.152.124 (talk) 14:15, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did not hear anything, either, but I found a Polish source which also says that Cracovia will be the participant. Hockey-holic (talk) 15:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool cool, I saw somebody kindly updated the Orange Ekstraklasa 2007-08 page to explain things anyway. Lech have been bumped up to the First Qualifying Round of the UEFA cup itself it seems. --79.184.121.234 (talk) 11:04, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Georgian spot

[edit]

Why does this keep changing?

First Zestafoni which is valid enough, then Olimpi Rustavi and now Lokomotiv Tbilisi! Not sure anyone knows really... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Solentboy1986 (talkcontribs) 09:27, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
