Article Started

[edit]

I recently created this article and filled in the match information known at this time. I have tried to start the article off organized as other WP:GA season articles are such as Bradford City A.F.C. season 2007-08, Bristol Rovers F.C. season 2006-07, and Sunderland A.F.C. season 2007–08‎ (this is the one I'm trying to emulate most). I would like to encourage any editors more familiar with the team to please contribute more to the prose of this article documenting the team's history over the course of the season. I will not be contributing significantly to this article beyond keeping the schdule and results up to date. --SkotyWATalk|Contribs 07:49, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My Issue

[edit]

Ok, I am looking at the formats for 2008, 2009 and 2010. They all start the same with the Uniform and team info box, but then:

  • 2008 and 2009 have the roster first (2008 calls it "Current roster", 2009 uses "Squad

[edit] First-team squad") 2010 has a background section, review broken down by month, looks like a section to write small summaries for the season (I like it, but I can see a lot of edit wars here).

  • Then the 2008 and 2009 go on to the transfers in/out from prior season (the formats are different, I like the 2009 format better). 2010 shows the season schedule.
  • 2008 goes on to the statistics table (personal with all players), 2009 Talks about the managers of the club (a table of the front office), 2010 goes on to show the league table (eastern conference and then over all tables).
  • 2008 goes on to talk about the competitions that the fire participated on that year, 2009 is the same :), but 2010 has a summary (of the season) table.
  • 2008 goes on to show the regular season standings (conference and then over all), 2009 shows the same, 2010 shows the squad on this section. The good news is that the squad tables are the same format for all 3 :), also the standings tables are the same for all 3 :).
  • 2008 shows the results summary (same format as 2010), 2009 shows the same, 2010 ends with the notes section.
  • 2008 and 2009 then show the team schedule/result table, this includes regular season, playoffs, US open cup, International games and friendly games.
  • 2008 and 2009 end with the notes section.

The good news is that all 3 use the same formats for tables, and schedules, most of the information is the same. The only issue is that the order is different in all, I think that the 2009 is formated to MLS standard, I am no sure, you should leave a comment on the Chicago Fire page and see what they resond (I think that you already did). well good luck--Ceezmad (talk) 21:05, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
