Inconsistency between round names in subheadings and article names

[edit]

While adding further information links underneath each Formula 2 round, I noticed that there's a lot of inconsistencies between round names in this page's subheadings and their respective Wikipedia articles. (For example: the corresponding article for "Round 14: Abu Dhabi" is titled "2022 Yas Island Formula 2 round".) Should the subheadings on this page be changed to match the article titles? Seeking consensus here as I'm new... MxMonaco (talk) 12:12, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Amaury Cordeel to join F2 with Van Amersfoort Racing

[edit]

Amaury Cordeel was announced that he would join Formula 2 with Van Amersfoort Racing when he finished his previous season driving for Campos 23rd in the points standings. How can this be possible though? Editingcreate123 (talk) 10:27, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Promotions aren't necessarily results-based. Maybe they saw something in his skills that aren't reflected in his results, or some other underlying reason. Whatever you thought of Cordeel's promotion, consider this too: Alessio Deledda was promoted to F2 in 2021 despite finishing 29th and 34th in the two prior seasons of F3. Once more than a few races have been completed, we can then better judge the merit of Cordeel's promotion. Benjamin112 19:17, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Cordeel scored a pole position as well in one of the races in the 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.205.96.142 (talk)
The crux of the original question seemed to be directed towards Cordeel's rather low ranking, and the fact of the matter is, teams can (not literally) sign whoever they see fit for their goals and ambitions. Benjamin112 06:30, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
He also won the Spanish F4 Championship in 2018. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.193.7.204 (talk) 17:40, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Teams Championship Results Table

[edit]

I’ve noticed the previous years’ teams results tables have each car number and results sorted by car number not by best result. Is it best to stick with the same format used previously or adapt the F1 style that it is at the moment? Jcblyth (talk) 05:52, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This section is not correct. Can someone fix it? 41.58.237.244 (talk) 03:51, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Name of the page not having FIA

[edit]

Is there a particular reason why the FIA F3 championship has FIA in its name but not F2? MrSplashman77 (talk) 11:34, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The parent pages about each respective FIA-accredited championship will have "FIA" in their name - see FIA Formula 2 Championship and FIA Formula 3 Championship for examples - but the yearly pages should not, going by the guideline set by 2022 Formula One World Championship.
You are correct in that the 2022 Formula 3 Championship page is actually titled 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship - maybe you could raise a discussion on that relevant talk page? There seems to be a lot of inconsistency with the way feeder series' Wikipedia pages are edited, and I think it would be a good idea to have some consensus. Result inconsistency between FIA F2 website and FIA document

[edit]

I noticed that the results of the Bahrain feature race are different on the FIA F2 website and the official FIA race classification document:

  • The F2 website lists positions 11 to 15 as Fittipaldi, Sato, Cordeel, Daruvala, Bolukbasi.
  • The FIA final classification document lists positions 11 to 15 as Sato, Daruvala, Fittipaldi, Bolukbasi, Cordeel.

I am inclined to follow the FIA classification document, but it would be best to get some consensus on always following one or the other since this could possibly happen again in the future. Jestal50 (talk) 21:58, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Caldwell excluded from Spa

[edit]

I notice the results matrix has Olli Caldwell excluded from the races at Spa-Francorchamps. Exclusion means you are excluded from the results after having started to races and this was not what happened. The results should be blank as he took no part of the race weekend. The results matrix should not be trying to explain details that belong in the article text. --Falcadore (talk) 21:39, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
