Requested move 2 January 2024[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Incorrect article. There were duplicate articles. This is not the correct article to have a RM. I'll ping participants at the original article (Assassination of Saleh al Arouri). I realize I'm involved here, but I'm only doing this to prevent editors from wasting further time at a redirect. 2024 Beirut explosion2024 Dahieh attack – The explosion didn't happen in Beirut, but in its southern suburbs which is separate to the municipal boundaries of Beirut. Also, although the assailant hasn't been confirmed, all sources say it was an attack/assassination. Prodrummer619 (talk) 17:04, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Move to Killing of Saleh al-Arouri (or possibly Assassination of Saleh al-Arouri, but that has POV implications). Most sources seem to be focused more on the victim of the attack than the exact location of where it happened.VR talk 17:54, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: Multiple RS describe the event as the "Beirut explosion" or "Beirut blast".[1][2][3] Skitash (talk) 18:13, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article[edit]

@Eladkarmel and Sakiv: I've redirected this page because it contains no meaningful information and needs to be entirely re-written before being linked to a Wikipedia article. Ecrusized (talk) 17:15, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We should first discuss before canceling entire article. Also, I invite you to add information to the article. This is an important event in the 2023 Hamas-Israel war Eladkarmel (talk) 17:19, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not link incomplete pages to important articles. Ecrusized (talk) 17:20, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
At this moment, thousands of people want to read about the event. And on Wikipedia there is nothing. If you claim the article is not important. Say, but it doesn't make sense for you to transfer him to the draft just like that.Eladkarmel (talk) 17:25, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ecrusized I don't understand what you are doing and why. Please write on the talk page before you take any rash steps.Eladkarmel (talk) 17:31, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The author of the article[edit]

I created the article in 16:20. And because @Ecrusized moved it to draft it looks like he created it. very insulting... Is there a way to change it?Eladkarmel (talk) 18:07, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Eladkarmel: Really doesn't matter since nothing is stopping you from placing it on your userpage. Prodrummer619 (talk) 18:12, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
