Merger proposal

[edit]

I'm documenting removal of a tag proposing merger of this article with Elsevier. There are three main reasons for doing so:

  1. the tagger left no "case for merger" on either talk page, so it fails to be made, by default;
  2. additionally, information about the 2collab tool would look like undue attention to a trivial part of a huge business if included at Elsevier; and,
  3. 2collab is an entity in its own right, comparable to similar tools offered on other platforms, grounds for its own namespace.

Anyone, please feel free to retag this article with a merge proposal if you feel you can also document a case for that proposal at this page or at Elsevier (or any other article you think appropriate to merge to). Harold Philby (talk) 11:41, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

agreed--it is one of their major products, and justifies an article of its own,. DGG ( talk ) 02:21, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I just got an email from them stating that the service is being discontinued. Perhaps we should reconsider the merge, a service that existed only for a few years is not really notable, I think. --Crusio (talk) 10:31, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • It is discontinued as of 15 April. Even so, I think the article should remain, essentially for the reasons listed above by Harold Philby. In any case, I will update the article now. --Yen Zotto (talk) 11:57, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • For me this article was valuable as there are a lot of talk about Web2.0 issues and I am compiling a list of successful and unsuccessful projects. So I am glad that it's still around. --Tomas, november 2012
