The 410th AEW is not associated in any way with the 410th Bomb Wing. Air Expeditionary Forces are numbered sequentially by the Air Force when they are formed as composite wings. I served with the 410th AEW when it was deployed at the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom.--Mporter410 (talk) 23:34, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid you're wrong. The Air Force's practice since the late 1990s has been to convert existing inactive units to provisional status, redesignate them as expeditionary units and assign them to major commands to activate or inactivate as needed.
